Home sweet home...

Well, after a month-long trip to the US, we are home safe and sound. The suitcases are unpacked, the laundry is done, two birthday parties attended, the house is vaccuumed (notice that I didn't say cleaned...), Tim is back at work and Lexi is back at barnehage. Whew! What a fun trip we had in the US. I have loads of pictures that I am sorting through from our time in Tulsa, but I decided to start backwards.

We spent the last week of our trip at our condo in Winter Park, Colorado. It was really nice to have some family time together...just the four of us to culminate Tim's paternity leave. We had gorgeous sunshine and blue skies in CO, but not huge amounts of snow. In fact, nearly all of the North American ski resorts are suffering from lack of snow. During our stay, someone said that this was the worst winter (snow-wise) in 40 years. I don't know if that is an accurate statistic, but we skipped our day of cross country skiing since the conditions were so poor. What did we do instead? I got my day at the spa, Tim got a day and a half on his snowboard, Lexi got to play and sled in the snow (over and over again) and Lillian got to wear her boots. (You'll see what I mean in the pics below.)

So, here are the pics...a few too many, probably. In this first pic, Lillian insisted on trying on her new boots that match Lexi's (they both also wore the same shirt...). Anyway, this was the first day of wearing her boots around the condo. She loved them and would whine until you help her to put them on. She would also take Lexi's boots to Lexi in hopes that Lexi would also put her boots on. Unfortunately, Lexi wasn't allowed to wear hers indoors as they are well-used. Lillian's were in a bit more pristine condition.

Lexi's new sled

Checking out the base of the Winter Park Ski resort I have no idea why this picture got turned side-ways on the upload... Same here...(the sideways thing). This is the sledding hill at Hideaway Park in the center of Winter Park. Great place and great facilities!
We took a horse and wagon ride at Devil's Thumb Ranch. Note that I did not write horse and sleigh ride...there just wasn't enough snow. It was fun and beautiful none-the-less. I think Lillian liked it more than Lexi. We ended up at a campfire to drink hot chocolate and eat S'mores. This was Lexi's first time eating S'mores... Sledding in the early evening after the sun went down

We did do other things than sledding during our 6 days, but it seems that we took the most pictures of the sledding excursions. We went to the condo's pool and hot tubs a couple of times and the girls and I tried out the new pool at the Grand County Rec Center one time. It was a great facility!

Must take a bath before the long travels back to Norway.

All clean and helping with the packing

Snoozing on the flight from JFK to Amsterdam. Both girls slept for 5 hours of the 6 hour flight. Tim and I dozed for a large portion of it as well. Instead of mounting the baby bassinet to the wall, we just kept it on the floor. It worked great. Lillian was slightly too long for it, but she got to lay horizontal and that was the most important.
