All smiles

Lexi seems to have turned a corner and is actually smiling for the camera these days!

This pic was taken at a Halloween party at her friend Grace's house on Sunday. We drove straight to the party after spending the weekend in Feda and I had not brought along a costume. So, Lexi borrowed a witch's hat from Grace.

---------
Lajla's birthday is this Thursday the 29th, but we celebrated her birthday with a family dinner last Saturday night in Feda. Here is a great pic of Lajla and Tom.

AC/DC and ice cream

What could be better than... AC/DC (of course) and ice cream sandwiches? This is another video clip I forgot about. It is fronm 23.sept, but I didn't manage to get the camera switched on in time to capture the real head-banging. :)
PS - you will notice a recurring theme in outfits in these various blog postings?????

Tea parties, baby dolls and much more...

I forgot about this video clip. Lexi's imaginiation has really kicked into gear. We have loads of tea parties, play with all of the baby dolls, etc. It is really fun to see. This clip is from 3.october.

Packages, packages, packages - we love packages!

Happy Halloween from Grammy and Grandpa! (a little early :) ) THANK YOU!

Pics from a week ago

One weekend ago, both Lexi and I were sick with a head cold / sinus / congestion thing. So, we stayed home while Tim went to Feda to work on grouting the bathrooms at the boathouse (see blog entry below).

Anyway, here are a couple pics of Lexi from last weekend. She was riding her scooter in the house. (in full gear...)

She was playing with the last of the cookie dough as we made sugar cookies. (The cookie sheets are already full in the background.)

Our favorite pastime...

...working on the Boathouse Project. Well, in all honesty, I have only put in a fraction of the hours that Tim has on this massive project. But, the light is definitely growing more brightly at the end of the tunnel! We spent this weekend in Feda working away; so, I took the opportunity to snap a few new pics. Starting with Little Miss Hard-Headed. She was a big help today as "we" spent some time cleaning up the kitchen and floors from all of the construction dust.

Ta da... the nearly finished kitchen! We still have some trim to mount at the top, and the plumber is scheduled to start work this week which means we might have running water (toilets, sinks) by next weekend!

More kitchen...

The living room is still a disaster zone as Tim is cutting the trimwork (ceilings, baseboards, door frames, etc.)

But, Tim finished the tiling and grouting! Yippee! That was a tough project that "hung over his head" for a while, but he is so glad that he tackled both the first floor and second floor bathrooms at the same time. Both are now done. Just need the plumber to hook-up the water and install the sinks, toilets, showers, bathtub, etc. This is a pic of the "luxuary" tub in the 2nd floor bathroom.
Here is the start of the shower (minus the glass doors, etc.) in the first floor bathroom.

Here is the rather steep stairs/ladder to get to the loft. The carpenters messed-up their measurements and we were left with very little space for the stairs. The staircase that was originally planned was never going to fit. So, we had to custom order something. It works, but it is definitely not easy to get up and down. We are disappointed, but there is not much we can do about it now...

All-in-all, the second floor living area and loft is nearly complete. We have to cut and stain (or paint) the trimwork and finish treating the paneling in the living room. The plumber should do his stuff this week and we hope to get the electrician back in soon to finish the breaker box and some other misc. electrical drops. Tim needs to install the fireplace; otherwise, we are ready to start bringing in furniture. The first floor still has a bit of work remaining (treating the walls, etc.), but it isn't the priority at the moment.
