STOP THE PRESS! MARK THE DATE...

...Sunday, September 13th was the day we managed to get trousers on Lexi for a walk around a local lake. It didn't have any impact on the "princess" attitude every other day of the week, but.... small steps....

And today, Lexi received a surprise package in the mail from Aunt Brenda! It contained a couple of cute outfits as well as some cool alphabet coloring books. One of the books had alphabet stickers which were a big hit tonight. See below...

There is no way I managed to get a picture of Lexi in the vicintity of the stickers... she was on the move.

And here is a video clip of Little Miss receiving her wonderful package.
THANK YOU Aunt Brenda!

Playdates and packages

Thank you Grammy and Grandpa...for the two new princess dresses! Lexi received a notice in the mailbox today that she had a package to go pick-up from the local post office. So we immediately headed to the local post office to retrieve the package. She played with the "stickers" (aka toll declaration and postage stamp) on the front the whole way home. I had told her that we had to go home to open it with scissors. (in other words - I wanted the camera).

So, her is the video clip. Sorry that the sound is a bit rough at the beginning.

PS to the video above ... Lexi insisted on selecting her own clothes today. Hence, the pink and white striped sweater with the red tights and the navy blue corduroy jumper dress :) Seriously, the child starts her morning by selecting which dress she wants to wear from her closet. It is usually a small battle as some of her "princesses" are not in the closet as they are mysteriously in the wash (or tucked away in my closet for a breather....). Today, she started with a red and pink striped dress; so, we donned the red tights. Then, the red/pink dress was rejected and we found the blue corduroy (...which was the same dress she wore yesterday - serves me right for hanging it back in her closet....)

Last weekend was a mom/daughter weekend. Tim headed to Feda to work on the boathouse and Lexi and I stayed at home. Actually, she had a rather busy weekend as she spent the night with Linn and Luna Friday night (I had an evening out with friends). Saturday was a much-needed haircut (see pics) and a playdate with Ingrid. Although it took a bit of warm-up time, they were playing together really well by the time we had to leave (see video below). Sunday was church and then a walk around a local lake with our friends Jacinta, Grace and new baby Rachel. Whew... we made it home just in time to Skype with Grammy and Grandpa. What a weekend :)

Here is a picture of Lexi and Baby Rachel from a week ago when we visited Rachel for the first time. Lexi insited on holding Rachel and desperately wanted to do it alone. "Go away Mamma!"

Six weeks and counting...

...of wearing no trousers.
