Happy Halloween!

Well, we may not have celebrated Halloween with a costume or trick-or-treating, but we carved pumpkins and Lexi wore her Halloween outfit from Aunt Brenda. Halloween is becoming more and more popular here in Norway, but we weren't home this weekend to see how many trick-or-treaters we had at our house. We went to Feda for the weekend which meant no trick-or-treating and we also missed out on a Halloween party with our church friends on Saturday. :(

But...last weekend, Lexi went to a Halloween party at her friend Grace's house (see blog entry below). She loved her "goodie bag" that she got to take home and asked for her "pumpkin bag" every night. (It had a couple of chocolate pumpkins in addition to other goodies which she was allowed to choose one each night this last week for dessert.)

I also bought three pumpkins... Lexi and Tim carved one on Wednesday night, we gave one to daycare which they carved on Thursday afternoon and had lit in the window on Friday morning and we gave the third to Luna.

Here is a pic of Lexi with her Halloween outfit from Aunt Brenda and her "mini" pumpkin. She asked for pigtails (hale) both Thursday and Friday morning ("like Jenny" - a friend at daycare). So, here she is...

Here are some pics of Lexi and Tim carving pumpkins on Wednesday night. First they drew their "smiley" face on paper...

Then they drew it on the pumpkins...

Really...double click to enlarge this image... I didn't notice it, but she actually drew the smiley face (eyes, nose and mouth) that Tim had drawn for her on the paper! The reason I didn't notice it on Wednesday night was that the end result was a jumble of circles and lines, but the begninning was for real!

She was a big help in scooping out the pumpin seeds and pulp...

Of course, I couldn't get her to look at the camera with the completed jack-o-lantern.
