Inappropriate or ???

Background info:
Around the Tønnessen household, it is baby doll central. Ever since Lillian came home from the hospital, Lexi's "play" has turned to the baby dolls. She constantly has 5-6 dolls that she is tending to. Everything from fixing them food (at her play kitchen), to putting them to sleep (with the various blankets and pillows around the living room), to dressing them, undressing them, doctoring them, talking to them, etc. A couple of weeks ago, we were in Feda at the boathouse and she started breast feeding one of her baby dolls "like Mamma does". Complete with pulling the shirt up and burping her (see pic below). Once back home in Stavanger, she even wanted a pair of Mamma's breast pads to put in her shirt and a proper burp cloth to burp her babies. (Both of which she received, of course!)

Marching forward in time to this weekend:

I pulled Lexi over to the Nativity Scene to have a chat about Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus and the Christmas story. You can see a pic of our Nativity Scene below and see Baby Jesus sleeping in his "crib".

So, a day later, what do I see? Can you guess? I see Lexi sitting in her little chair in the living room, with her shirt pulled up and she is breast feeding Baby Jesus. I just couldn't get to the camera fast enough....

We then (of course), had another talk about Baby Jesus....

The Dancing Queen

Here are a couple of video clips of Lexi that I have been meaning to upload. The first one is Lexi dancing with her new Frosty that Grammy and Grandpa sent her. The second one is just general dancing to her favorite - Abba's Mamma Mia songs. This was taken one of the first nights after Lillian and I came home from the hospital. I guess we were enjoying some quiet, relaxing days at home, but Lexi had a little energy that she needed to burn.
P.S. She will be starting a dance class in January!

Another week (or two)

Well, my sister has been hounding me to update the blog again. Of course, say nothing of the fact that she hasn't updated her blog with new pictures for the last four weeks or so. Further, it's not like she has had two holidays (Halloween and Thanksgiving) for prime picture taking opportunities. Oh well, we'll blame it on the preganncy and tiredness.

So, being the good sister that I am, here are some pics from the last week plus.

Here was our first walk through our local woods. Lillian and Harley shared prime stroller space.

Lexi got to stay home from daycare that day. We have had several days of below freezing temps (20-30F) with beautiful sunshine and no wind. Absolutely gorgeous, but brrrrr, must bundle up.

We also spent a long weekend at the boathouse.

Lexi was getting ready to go to Leonora's 3rd birthday party. She was excited.
And now, my story. I had this brilliant idea to buy the girls matching Christmas dresses and dress then up for a photo op for the yearly Christmas card. Seriously, what was I thinking? Lexi was game to put on her "pretty dress", but would not cooperate with Lillian and Lillian decided to get fussy. So, she got some milk and then passed out (as in sack of potatoes - passed out). Needless to say, I didn't manage a Christmas card pic of the "quality" I had envisioned....

We kept the tradition and started to drag out the Christmas decor last Friday (the day after Thanksgiving). Lexi was super-excited to decorate the Christmas tree on Saturday morning. Here is Lexi and an equally "excited" Tim in their Santa hats.
Sorry, a bit blurry.

Now, Kristy's argument for wanting me to update the blog is that I have a newborn that changes daily. Hmmmm.... I'm not so sure that you can see the difference in the pics :) But, mission accomplished, blog updated.

More pics of Lexi and Lillian

We are enjoying being at home. Have had a couple of good nights sleep (all four of us) and have enjoyed the days. Lexi has gone to daycare (barnehage) for partial-days this week and Tim, Lillian and I have puttered around the house (and garage...). Here are some pics from Sunday through today (Tuesday)

Like mother like daughter???

I'm not sure who more enjoyed getting the activity mat out again....
I swear I have an identical picture of Lexi with the same pose - must find it...

For comparison, here is a pic of Lexi when she was 23 days old.
Seriously, do you spot the differences???
Back to tonight.... (Lillian was born at 51cm, 20.1" and Lexi measured at 98,5cm, 38.8" tonight)
Umbilical cord starting to stink...hope it falls off soon.

Welcome Lillian Marie!

Praises to Him! We were blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby girl this last Wednesday (November 10th) at 12:39pm Norway time (5:39am Tulsa time).

Lillian Marie Tønnessen weighed in at 3,732 grams (8lbs, 4oz) and 51cm long (20.1"). She has a dark head of hair like big sister Lexi did nearly 4 years ago.

Extra praises to Him for a trouble-free birth. Both mom and Lillian got off to a great start!

Meet Lillian Marie....

Proud Pappa
Even prouder big sister, Lexi

Lillian brought Lexi a "Big Sister Gift" today when she came home from the hospital. Lexi got a digital camera (V-tech). Lexi's good friend Ingrid sent her some fashionable Hello Kitty gloves and a couple of glittery headbands.Lexi placed "Harley #2" in the Pack-n-Play with Lillian
Snapping pics... thank goodness its digital :)

Halloween 2010

Sorry folks, I was pretty lazy with the camera this weekend. We went to Feda to celebrate Lajla's (Tim's mom) 67th birthday with family. It was a great weekend, but I never had my camera out - other's did - will have to try and get copies.

I did snap a pic of the tired girl on the drive home on Sunday evening as well as a couple of pics of Lexi with the pumpkins that she and cousin Luna and cousin Jenny carved on Saturday. (Thanks Grammy and Grandpa for the Halloween outfit!)

Fun Fall Weekend!

We spent this last weekend in Feda for a 3 day weekend. We had beautiful fall weather (blue skies, sunshine and crispy temps). It was a fun actioned-packed weekend with friends and family.

Here is Lexi at the indoor waterpark (Badeland) in Lyngdal.

Here is Sverre and Lexi (3 months apart) after the trip to Badeland on Friday

Here is Lexi on the sailboat on Saturday (eating a choc chip cookie, of course....)
Here is Tim and Lexi on our sailboat trip in Feda fjord
Lexi was lulled to sleep after she ate her cookie....

Lexi also received a Halloween package from Grammy and Grandpa. She was allowed to open it on Friday morning. Here is the video clip. Thanks for a wonderful present!
